Global reflection from local lens: Post-COP26
On 8 December, VCA organised a dialogue session between leaders of local community-based initiatives and movements from Kenya, Ghana, Bolivia and the Netherlands.
Which gaps held local actors back at COP26, and what support do we need in the run-up to COP27? With these questions, VCA kick-started the first dialogue session between community-based initiatives and social movement actors working to tackle the climate crisis and address climate justice issues locally and globally. The speakers were from Kenya, Ghana, Bolivia, and the Netherlands.
Held last December, the session is a first in a series of bi-monthly dialogues, designed to spark a discussion between civil society actors from movements and local initiatives to identify gaps and injustices that persist in the global climate agenda.
