VCA’s 27@27 Full video

VCA27@27 was hosted as a side-event at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt in 2022. The event comprised of a screening of a 27-minute video that featured contributions from 12 youth activists and youth-led initiatives, and 9 VCA local partners from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Bolivia, Zambia, Indonesia, Brazil and Paraguay. The video showcases various local innovative solutions addressing the climate crisis, including locally shaped nature-based solutions. The event is a direct outcome of joint efforts between youth movements, local partners and VCA. It created a space that enabled voices from vulnerable communities to be heard and demonstrated the power of diverse and honest storytelling in front of a global audience that included representatives from donor agencies. Furthermore, the event was able to forge connections, creatively provide grassroots voices a seat at the decision-making table and spur meaningful discussions on the importance of grassroots agency and urgent need to moblise finance.
