Financial inclusion: indigenous and local communities access bank services for the first time

In Paraguay, the difficult access to bank services has historically been a barrier for economic equity and well-being for many rural and indigenous communities. Through a partnership between WWF-Paraguay and the National Development Bank (BNF), banking services and financial education were offered to remote areas for the first time, promoting financial inclusion.

Climate Gallery: Artivism for Climate Action

The Climate Gallery, as part of the #VoicesForThePlanet granting programme, brought together ten artistic and activist proposals at the city's cultural centre, Manzana de la Rivera, for an experience that fused dance, popular theatre, storytelling, documentary, muralism, sculpture, and virtual and augmented reality. It was a colourful and participatory evening. Art was created with and for the community to address issues such as air, water, habitat, memory, and coexistence.

World Meeting of the American Chaco

The 6th World Meeting of the American Chaco (EMCHA) was held in Filadelfia, Paraguay, from 2 to 4 October 2025. Under a common slogan: ‘Building the future of the Gran Chaco together, from its peoples and for its peoples’, the event brought together more than 600 participants from four countries that share the Chaco biome: Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and, for the first time, Brazil.

Strengthening the Voice of Communities: Presentation of UCINY’s New Community Centre

On 27 September 2025, the new community centre of UCINY (Union of Indigenous Communities of the Yshir Nation), located in Puerto Diana, the Paraguayan Pantanal, was opened to the public. The event was attended by community leaders, residents and civil society organisations, bringing together more than 110 people in a ceremony filled with emotion and collective commitment.

The 2025 Tri-national Meeting of the Chaco Women's Collective: ‘We Move the Territory’ was a milestone in bringing together women from Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia, who reaffirmed their commitment to defending their territory, the rights of their communities and building a common future in the face of the climate crisis. Rooted in Solidarity: Youth Leading Climate Action in East Nusa Tenggara

Amid the growing complexity of the climate crisis in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Koalisi KOPI (Youth Collective for Climate Action) was born as a space for young people to grow and take collective action to respond to the crisis from a local perspective. Established in 2021 through the Voices for Just Climate Action programme by Hutan Itu Indonesia (HII) and Terasmitra (TM), the coalition brings together youth communities and individuals from various regions. With a spirit of baku dukung (mutual support), Koalisi KOPI strengthens youth leadership, uplifts local wisdom-based solutions, and builds a climate movement through creative (artivism), inclusive, and sustainable approaches. This journey reflects how the voices, actions, and courage of young people can shape a more just, sustainable, and rights-based future.
