Visualising Five Years of Climate Justice
Experience five years of climate action through these digital graphic harvests. A vibrant visual journey capturing the heart of the VCA programme’s legacy.
As the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) programme marked the close of its five-year journey, the reflections came to life through a stunning series of digital graphic harvests. These vibrant visuals captured the spirit of the four-day gathering in Nairobi, from regional victories and thematic insights to field visits and closing reflections. Each illustration honours the voices, stories, and collective wisdom that have shaped the VCA movement.
Day 1: Setting the Stage
The first day opened with a warm welcome and a powerful reminder of why we were here: to reflect on five years of collective action for climate justice.
Partners introduced themselves and shared stories of impact, highlighting some of the greatest country successes, from policy wins to community-led innovations.
Day 2: Deep Dives and Shared Lessons
On the second day, we explored the VCA story through six chapters, unpacking the strategies and partnerships that shaped our movement.
Discussions focused on the critical role of youth, women, and Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) in driving change. These sessions underscored how inclusive leadership and diverse perspectives have been central to building resilience and advancing climate justice across regions.
Day 3: Learning in the Field
The third day took us out of the conference room and into the heart of community-led climate action. Participants visited projects in Nairobi and Naivasha, witnessing firsthand how local creativity and collaboration are transforming challenges into solutions. From urban greening and circular economy initiatives to water security and climate-smart farming, these field trips showcased the resilience and innovation driving change on the ground.
Day 4: Looking Ahead
The final day was dedicated to reflection and sustainability. We revisited insights from the field trips, celebrating the creativity and courage of communities leading climate solutions.
Conversations on sustainability and communications highlighted how to keep the momentum alive beyond the programme’s close.
The day ended with closing remarks that honoured VCA’s legacy and called on all partners to continue shaping just and resilient futures.
More than just documentation, these graphics are a celebration of community-led climate action and a visual legacy of a global effort to reimagine justice, power, and resilience.
