VOICES FOR JUST CLIMATE ACTION – ALLIANCE TEAM ENROUTE TO KAFUE FLATS LANDSCAPE

In co-creating climate solutions within the rural communities of Kafue district, VCA Alliance Members visited Magoba ward where VCA subgrant partner House of Ruth Foundation is implementing the Voices for Just Climate Action Programme through WWF Zambia with support from the Dutch Government.
As a collective of solutions to the climate crisis, the people of Magoba Ward are working with their traditional leaders, local council, WDCs and representatives from selected women and youth clubs to develop and manage community forests, create village banking groups and create sustainable livelihoods to deal with the effects of climate change.
VCA local partner House of Ruth Foundation aims to help amplify rural communities’ voices within the Kafue district and enhance community engagement on educational rights knowledge in relation to climate justice with the community coined slogan #VCA #Ndiswe, meaning ownership of the programme to the people.
