VCA Indonesia 2nd Thematic learning webinar
This VCA webinar, 'Community Voices and Partnerships in Monitoring Just Climate Action: Are They Important?' hosted by Voices For Just Climate Action (VCA) through SPEAK Indonesia, was a forum for discussion and sharing of learning regarding good community involvement practices in climate action monitoring efforts.
The involvement of various parties can be a social control to monitor and evaluate an activity that has been running or is currently running. Monitoring is an important activity in ensuring the long-term success of climate adaptation initiatives, plans, and actions. In the monitoring and evaluation stage, apart from the collection of data, community involvement and the active role of women as one of the affected groups in monitoring to decision-making can help encourage the adoption of climate change policies and strengthen mitigation and adaptation efforts and will increase understanding and awareness of the impacts of climate change. Through community involvement and partnerships, local governments and climate partners can become agents of prevention and implementation of good practices in handling the impacts of climate change and increase opportunities for collaboration on climate action.
