Uniting for Youth-Led Climate Action
On July 24th, we had an inspiring meeting with the VCA network and others about the exciting opportunity to join the We Are Tomorrow Global Partnership (WAT-GP)!
WHAT IS WAT-GP?
WAT-GP is a global partnership supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It focuses on empowering young people to lead the conversation and actions on climate justice. Each year, from one COP (climate meeting) to the next, youth groups work together to set the agenda and push for real change.
WHAT DID WE TALK ABOUT?
We explored how we can collaborate on youth-led solutions for climate justice. A key part of this is connecting voices from the South and the North, ensuring that everyone is heard. Youth groups in the North, with their close ties to decision-makers, can play a crucial role in tackling climate issues worldwide.
WHY SHOULD WE JOIN?
This partnership aligns perfectly with our VCA goal to showcase effective solutions by 2025. It also opens up new opportunities for funding youth-led projects. With over 40 participants from various countries, there was a strong sense of enthusiasm and commitment! We’ll be organising more meetings soon and are planning a special event at COP29.
