Women Leading the Regeneration of Rangelands Using Acacia Seed Banks

Women in Marsabit have formed a movement called “Urbisa” to save the highly threatened acacia tortilis (umbrella thorn) species. Women's groups collect acacia seeds through this campaign to create a seed bank. These seed banks will help in the county's large-scale restoration of dryland ecosystems.
